Golf Slice Cures

There seems as many sites offering golf slice cures these days as there are unfortunates suffering from the problem. If you read them closely, at least those you don't have to pay a fortune to access, you will see that all these golf slice cures are basically the same. Different words to give the same information.

They all offer advice on strengthening your grip (though not all explain clearly what 'strengthening means), most offer advice on swinging across the ball from right to left and some even mention that the directions should be reversed for left-handers!

So, what we learn from reading all these golf slice cures. The first, I believe, is that there seems no need to pay lots of money for video training courses since they only tell us what we already know. That in order to cure a golf slice you have to hit the ball correctly - your drive should be straight and the club face square to the ball. There's nothing more to say, other than give advice on how to achieve that, and your money would probably be better spent on a session or two with your golf pro than on videos showing you how to drive straight.

There's nothing like the personal touch for golf slice cures. Every individual has a unique swing and drive, so every golfer probably requires their own individual tuition in how to cure a slice. None of the usual golf slice cures are any different from any other, so the uniqueness would come only in how they can be applied to individual cases.

Personally, I would feel more confident of a cure if I were in the hands of a professional golf instructor than if I were trying to follow instructions in a book. The trouble with videos and books is that you need someone else to spot your faults while you swing. You can't very well look at yourself while you do it. I'm sure that if you tried your swing would be very artificial, assuming you managed to complete it!

No, I think that all the advice available on the causes of golf slices is excellent and very useful, but that golf slice cures are most effective when carried out with the aid of a professional instructor.
